Aminado ang Kapuso star na si Kimson Tan na pressured but at the same time ay excited s’ya na gagawin n’yang international movie na may title na “King of Hawkers” na kukuhanan sa Singapore sa susunod na taon.
Sinabi n’ya ito matapos kumustahin ng entertainment press via a virtual media conference kahapon, December 6, ang experience n’ya working with an international production.
S’ya daw kasi ang unang artista mula sa Pilipinas na gagawa ng movie na ipo-produce ng AOR Global, isang Singapore-based production house that’s now venturing into film production.
“To be honest po, medyo nakaka-pressure and at the same time excited,” sagot ni Kimson sa press people.
“Pressured po kasi I’ll be the first sa Philippines, with GMA collaborating with AOR Global. Ako po ’yong una, e, so I have to really give my best in everything that I do right now,” paliwanag pa n’ya.
“Lalo na po, I’m not representing myself. I’m representing GMA Network and I’m representing the Philippines in Singapore. So, I really have to give my best po.”
Ganu’n pa man, excited daw s’ya dahil maliban sa pangarap n’yang magkaroon ng international projects, ay makakatrabaho n’ya ang veteran chef and food consultant na si John See (who did the food styling of Crazy Rich Asians) at ang blockbuster Singaporean director na si Kelvin Sng (Taxi! Taxi! and The Fortune Handbook).
“Excited kasi po this has been my dream, to try to go international and it’s happening right now. It’s really happening right now and nagsi-sink in na po s’ya unti-unti,” lahad pa ng chinito heartthrob.
“Plus, I’m working with a million-dollar director in Singapore which is Direk Kelvin Sng. Sobrang laking privilege po sa akin nu’n and I’m really honored to work with Direk Kelvin.”
“Actually, the first time na nalaman ko about this project was [because of] my handler…he was asking me if I can speak Mandarin or Fukien. That’s the requirement of the film,” pagre-recall ni Kimson.
“Ang sabi ko naman, ‘I can do it.’ Ayon, basically, we sent a video recording of me speaking in Chinese, introducing myself in Chinese din,” saad n’ya.
“After that, right after few days, we had a meeting with Ms. Priscila [Teo] who’s the head of AOR Global. Then eventually, meetings through meetings, and then I flew to Singapore, meeting din po with Direk Kelvin Sng and Chef John [See]. Up until now, tuloy na po ang project,” he said.
“I think, back in July, I met Joseph over breakfast. There, we talked about how are we going to come [up with a project] together because it is always my wish to put Filipino talents and Singaporean talents together,” pagbabahagi ng movie producer.
“It is just so coincidence that in the month of June I met up with Kelvin and Chef John and we have this conversation of having this movie. It’s just so coincident that Sir Joseph went to Singapore and we met him,” pagpapatuloy n’ya.
“So, I shared to him this dream that I wanted to put two talents together. Sir Joseph said, ‘Yeah. I have a talent that speaks beautiful Mandarin.’ That’s how Kimpson came in to our journey.”
“He’s actually our first choice. I’m actually very looking forward to work with young potential guy, to further explore Singapore food and also the culture. And using him as a medium to tell more Filipino people our way of life in Singapore,” saad n’ya.
For the filmmaker Kelvin Sng naman, excited na daw s’yang makatrabaho si Kimson dahil maganda daw ang work ethics ng Kapuso actor.
“He’s very hard working, he’ very positive, his attitude. I’m really looking forward to work with him. I personally look forward to direct him so he can shine in the movie,” pahayag ng direktor.
“Sa ngayon wala pa po but I’ll fly to Singapore next year to start my training with AOR and with Chef John, basically, para po sa film because this will revolve around the food culture, the Hawker culture of Singapore. So, basically, I have to focus more on my cooking skills and everything,” ani Kimpson.
“Right now I’m slowly learning how to cook sa bahay. I’m learning how to get the feel of the kitchen. Plus I’m starting my training with AOR Philippines, with the other aspect of my craft that I can improve on,” pagtatapos ni Kimson.
