New songs from Because, Mark Carpio, Shehyee, Soy, Al Moralde, and Ethan Loukas headline Viva Music’s offering this week

“Kuntento” by Shehyee

Hit rap music act Shehyee returns with a new bop titled “Kuntento.” Rhythmic as it is melodic, “Kuntento” is all about Shehyee picturing what it would be like to be content to the point of not chasing his passions.

It’s part confessional and cautionary tale as Shehyee extols that what keeps the world turning and life moving forward is by being passionate.

But he says it best with his Shehyee-isms which this track chock full of.

“Bituin” by Soy

Soy lays down some old-school rap rhyming in his new song titled “Bituin.” Here, Soy mixes ukulele acoustics, squiggly synths, and drum beats to come up with a catchy tune about hopeful wishes and stargazing dreams.

“Wow Baby” by Because

Rap music artist BECAUSE returns with a heady new track “Wow Baby.” This sexy, moody, and beat-driven bop reunites Because with prolific Hiphop producer and beat maker Emmanuel “NEXXFRIDAY” Salen. The award-winning pair keeps the vibes going on this mid-tempo head bobber.

“Wife Material” by Al Moralde ft. Prince Ben

Al Moralde is one Viva South’s most promising music acts. He offers up a tuneful new song in “Wife Material.” This upbeat, pop R&B original is booty moving as it is catchy and is a bullet-point list of all the qualities he thinks would be good for a future wife. Al Moralde also sticks to his roots and sings this perky dance track in his regional tongue.

“BAHALA” by Ethan Loukas

Ethan Loukas returns with the surging new track titled “BAHALA.” The “Sueño” singer-songwriter picks up pace and lays down an uplifting and reassuring song about admitting to oneself that it’s okay to ask for help during those trying times of personal lows. The Blacksheep Records Manila artist inspires and at the same time rocks with this ear-tweaking number.

“Sabik” by Mark Carpio

Balladeer and songwriter Mark Carpio writes up a lively and emotional new number in “Sabik.” This mid-tempo ballad starts off smooth and finishes strong as a power ballad.

Take this: “Dahil hindi ko na kayang pigilan pa’t maawat ang pusong uhaw at sabik / lagi na lang umaasa at nagpaparaya ligayang pinagkait / idaraan na nga lang ba ikaw sa dasal ng puso kong sabik.”
