After three years, multi-awarded singer-songwriter Taylor Swift walked the red carpet of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards or the VMAs.
The 32-year old pop star surprised fans at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as she glitters on the red carpet wearing a sparkling Oscar de la Renta dress with matching chandelier-inspired Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz diamond drop earrings and rings.

The last time Taylor attended the VMAs in person was in 2019 when she kicked off the evening with back-to-back performances of “You Need to Calm Down” and “Lover” from her album titled Lover.
The VMAs will always be remembered when Taylor, back in 2009, won the Best Female Video (for “You Belong With Me”). In the middle of her acceptance speech, Kanye West rudely charged the stage, snagged the mic from her hand and proclaimed that — despite her victory — Beyoncé still had “one of the best videos of all time” which was “Single Ladies.”
The singer’s last surprise public appearance was during the Tribeca Film Festival last June when All Too Well was screened
“I’m really secret agent-y about people not finding out about what we’re making while we’re making it. So everything was codewords and writing things in codes that only certain people knew … I’m so weird with stuff like that,” says Taylor who posed solo on the red carpet and once again put engagement rumors to boyfriend Joe Alwyn to bed for now by posing sans engagement ring on her left ring finger.
Alwyn addressed engagement rumors regarding him and Taylor, his girlfriend of five years last April to Wall Street Journal: “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
Taylor hasn’t given many interviews in the last year and has kept a low profile. She is dipping her toe in the acting world though, in addition to directing. Swift will be appearing in the film, Amsterdam, which is coming out on Oct. 7 and directed by David O. Russell.
She co-stars with Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Michael B. Jordan, Anya Taylor-Joy, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Zoe Saldana, Michael Shannon and Robert de Niro.
