This week’s new releases from Viva Music(Viva Records, OC Records, and Blacksheep Manila Records) include a collab piece from Gloc 9 and Thyro Alfaro (“Kagat ni Eba”), three hugot feels, and two movie OSTs (Expensive Candy and Bula).

Check them out:

“Kagat ni Eba” by Gloc 9 x Thyro Alfaro

(Original Soundtrack from the Vivamax movie The Escort Wife)

Hit rap music artist Gloc 9 returns with a new song, “Kagat Ni Eba.” This is Gloc 9’s first single after a long while and the song also sees the rapper collaborating with hit singer-songwriter Thyro Alfaro. The song is the theme of the upcoming Vivamax movie The Escort Wife.

“Tingin” by Fitz Shioda

OC Records’ Fitz Shioda returns with a modern sounding, soft-rock ballad in “Tingin.” Fitz shared that the track is his version of the age-old “love-at-first-sight” theme. The song also highlights first impressions.

“The first thing I always notice about someone is their eyes–somehow it gives you a glimpse of who they are and, and what they’re feeling and what they’ve been through.”

“Ikaw Pa Rin” by MRLD

MRLD is a rising music act that’s getting all the right attention for her distinct sound and succinct approach to pop. In “Ikaw Pa Rin,” the OC Records singer-songwriter borrows from retro pop to get her point across in this mid-tempo, pop ballad about “loving someone even from afar.” Admittedly, MRLD says “Ikaw Pa Rin” is inspired by her recent interest in KPop.

“Balikan” by KaMuning

KaMuning drops an epic sounding rock tune with “Balikan.” The Blacksheep Records Manila band—composed of Joel, Teta, Max and Morgana—shares that the song is “about the never-ending cycle of love and hate.” The band definitely hits on all the right hugot feels on this mid- tempo pop-rock ballad.

Expensive Candy OST

• ”Sa Panaginip Na Lang” by Alamat

• “Luha” by Adie

• “Please You” by Jae K

• “Sabik”  by The Juans

• “Sushi Dance” by Curse and Bless

EXPENSIVE CANDY, the Viva Films’ movie directed by Jason Paul Laxamana starring Julia Barretto and Carlo Aquino, features a powerhouse original soundtrack that taps some of the biggest acts in Pinoy pop today.

The OST collection starts with ALAMAT with their fan-fave track “Sa Panaginip Na Lang.” Hit singer Adie is also here with his stand-out track “Luha.” Rising R&B and Hiphop act Jae K likewise contributes herein with “Please You.” The Juans are also here with Juanistas’ fave “Sabik.”  EDM artist-producers Curse & Bless’ (Jared Celemin and Karen Toyoshima) electro-club gem “Sushi Dance” completes the exciting lineup.

Expensive Candy, by the way, is showing in cinemas nationwide starting September 14.

Bula OST

• “Kahit Gaano” Kalaki by Alynna

• ‘Lapit Ka” by Jensen Kyra

• “Malaking Lalaki” by Viva Hotbabes

• “Pangarap Na Bituin” by Ataska

The new Vivamax film Bula—which stars Ayanna Misola, Gab Lagman, Rob Guinto, Ana Abad Santos, Mon Confiado, Alvaro Oteyza, Andrea Fen, Nic Galvez, Charo Laude and debuting actress Miles Victoria—gets some solid music support from its campy official OST.

Starting off with young pop artist ATASKA who dusts off a Willy Cruz classic in “Pangarap Na Bituin.”  Jensen Kyra is here with “Lapit Ka.”

Novelty songs from the ’90s and early 2000s are also making a comeback here through the Viva Hot Babes classic “Malaking Lalaki” and the Alynna LSS-inducing song “Kahit Gaano Kalaki.”

All jukebox-y songs certainly add colors to  this Bobby Bonifacio, Jr. film.

The film, by the way, starts streaming today on Vivamax.
