Nag-viral si 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray bilang isa sa hosts ng katatapos na Binibining Pilipinas 2022 dahil ayon sa mga nakapanood ay tila nagmala- Steve Harvey siya.

Si Steve Harvey ang naging host noong nagwagi si Pia Wurtzbach bilang 2015 Miss Universe pero iba ang nabasa nitong pangalan. Imbes ay si Ariadna Gutierrez ng Colombia ang kanyang nai-announce. Naipagpalit ng American TV host ang pangalan nang dalawang beauty queens.

Tila ganito rin ang naisip ng mga nakatutok sa ginanap na Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant nitong Linggo dahil nagkaroon ng delayed sa pag-anunsyo ng nanalo para sa Binibining Pilipinas International at Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental.

Inakalang nagkapalit din ang mga pangalan nina Nicole Borromeo ng Cebu as Binibining Pilipinas International at Gabrielle Basiano ng Borongan, Eastern Samar bilang Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental.

Sa kanyang Instagram account nitong Lunes ng gabi ay naglabas ng official statement si Catriona at isinama niya ang co-host na si Nicole Cordoves, ang 2016 Miss Grand International Philippines.

Pinost nito ang larawan ng mga nanalo sa katatapos na beauty contest at mga hurado habang nagde-deliberation.

Ang caption ng dalaga ay: “The hardest deliberation ever…”

Samantala, natito ang pahayag nina Catriona at Nicole.

“About last night…

“As the hosts of last night’s Binibining Pilipinas 2022, @binibiningnicolecordoves and I announced the winners accordingly based on the titles printed on the individual title cards as these were handed over by SGV & Co. partner and representative, Mr. Ocho.

“As a member of the overseeing committee during the deliberations (as pictured on slide 4 by BPCI Execom member @laraquigaman), Mr. Ocho later rechecked the cards and confirmed that the results previously announced were correct, which became the decisive factor in moving forward with the announcement.

“As former candidates ourselves, we understand what the girls go through and would, therefore—without a second thought—correct any errors, if any were made. But as already explained, SGV & Co. partner and representative Mr. Ocho himself confirmed the validity of the results.

Sinuportahan naman si Cat ng kanyang mga followers sa pahayag niyang ito.

“The winners announced by the hosts were accordingly based on the titles printed on the cards, which were handed over by SGV & Co. partner and representative, Mr. Ocho.

“Mr. Ocho even rechecked the cards and confirmed that the results announced by the host were accurate.

“We hope that this will put to rest any controversy concerning last night’s results.”
