Chris Hemsworth says naked butt scene in new Thor movie was a “kind of a dream of mine.”

Chris Hemsworth is all set to return as Thor, along with Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor. Besides Portman, other stars in Love and Thunder includes Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista with Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus.

Chris Hemsworth revealed his naked butt scene in the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder.

The 38-year-old Australian actor told Variety that showing his butt in a Marvel film is a dream come true.

“It was 10 years in the making that scene — kind of a dream of mine. 

“The first time I played Thor I took my shirt off and I thought, ‘You know what’s gonna sweeten this… a decade from now it’s all gonna come off”,” the actor laughs at the film’s premiere at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

Love and Thunder’s director Taika Waititi discussed Hemsworth’s big butt moment in the film, saying that Chris worked too hard to not show off his body.

“I feel like we had all talked about it. We had talked about, ‘Yeah, we gotta show off this body.’ My whole thing was like, Chris works so hard, you’ve gotta show it off. Don’t cover it up with all these suits and the cape and stuff, it’s not fair!” says Waititi.

Hemsworth adds that it wasn’t his first time time to bare on the big screen: “I had had that out in Rush many years ago. In a Marvel film, it was a very large screen, it was a very big pair of cheeks, and, I don’t know, I had seen it before!”

Chris is all set to return as Thor, along with Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor. The Oscar-winning actress played the character Jane Foster in Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

On being Mighty Thor, Portman trained for almost a year in 2020 to build up her physique.

The actress told Variety: “I worked with a trainer over 10 months before and during filming to rebuild my physique, especially my shoulders and arms, into ripped, comic book shape. To have this reaction and be seen as big, you realize, ‘Oh, this must be so different, to walk through the world like this. When you’re small — and also, I think, because I started as a kid — a lot of times I feel young or little or, like, a pat-on-the-head kind of person. And I present myself that way, too, because of that.”

Another unexpected benefit for Portman to embracing her newfound sense of size. In real life, the actress stands 5-foot-3-inches. In Love and Thunder, Jane’s Mighty Thor stands six feet tall, and since there’s no healthy way yet for an actor to grow nearly 10 inches, the crew had to get creative to bring Portman to the proper height for scenes in which she walked with her co-stars.

“I definitely got as big as I’ve ever been. You realize, ‘Oh, this must be so different, to walk through the world like this. As a 5-foot-3 woman, I don’t know that I’m ever going to be cast again as a 6-foot character, I really relished people seeing me as big.

“We’d rehearse the scene, they’d see the path, and then they’d build a path that was like one foot off the ground or whatever, and I would just walk on that. They would call it a deck, but depending on the accent, sometimes it sounded like something else. Because we’re all children. It was actually one of our running jokes. They’d all have to navigate my deck!”
